NEW CHAIRPERSON FOR BIRDLIFE AUSTRALIA’S GLUEPOT RESERVE
On the 11th July, 2020 and following 23 years of service, Mr Duncan MacKenzie formally steps down as Chairman of the Birdlife Australia’s Gluepot Reserve management committee. Mr MacKenzie supervised the transition of Gluepot from a pastoral grazing property to Conservation Reserve in 1997-98 and over two decades was a major influence in the development of Gluepot Reserve as a national leader in environmental management.
The new Chairman of Birdlife Australia’s Gluepot Reserve is Mr Ian Falkenberg who recently retired from the Department for Environment & Water serving in the South Australian Arid Lands, South East, Murray Darling Basin and Northern and Yorke Regions. More recently (2015 to 2019) Mr Falkenberg was Operations Manager of the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary National Park which involved the establishment of SA newest National Park to protect Migratory Shorebirds.
Mr Falkenberg is also State Representative of Birdlife Australia’s Raptor Group, member of Birdlife Australia and Birds SA and has been an active member of Gluepot Reserve Management Committee for over 20 years.

Gluepot has increased its Solar Power generating capacity by installing an additional array of solar panels and replacing the storage batteries.
